Ⅰ. How should the wifi router for home be placed?
1. Place it in an open place
"You blocked my signal", this situation is real. If the obstruction is too large, it will affect the propagation of the WiFi signal. The signal emitted by the router spreads to the surroundings and needs to be far away from the obstructions such as cabinets and walls. It is recommended to install it in a place where there is no debris in the middle of the living room.
2. Stay away from electronic products
Most of the home appliances such as TVs, wireless mice, induction cookers, microwave ovens, etc. are devices that directly emit electromagnetic signals. If the router is placed between them, the WiFi signal will also be influenced.
3. Placed in an appropriate position off the ground
The WiFi signal of the router will become weaker as the distance increases. If the router is placed on the ground or in a very low position, the WiFi signal will easily be obstructed by items such as tables, chairs, sofas, etc. It is recommended that the router be placed in an open place at a height of 1m from the ground to ensure the WIFI coverage performance and the gateway to enter the hall as much as possible.
Ⅱ. How to place the router antenna?
Let's start with the conclusion. Keep the router's antenna vertical, and I mean just vertical to the ground.
Speaking of the placement of the router antenna, we must start with the radiation pattern of the router antenna. At present, the antennas equipped with the wifi router for home are all omnidirectional. As far as the radiation pattern of the antenna is concerned, the radiation intensity on both sides of the antenna is the highest. It should be noted here that the coverage on both sides of the antenna is the best instead of the tip of the antenna. The signal strength of the tip of the antenna is the weakest.
Due to the strongest coverage on both sides of the antenna, the height of the antenna should be close to the height of the terminal, and this signal strength is the best coverage.
Since the antenna radiation of the router is the best on both sides, no matter how many antennas your router has, the best is to place the antenna vertically instead of swinging in all directions as some digital experts say.
Now our home wifi routers mainly use 4 external antennas, two of which are 2.4G antennas, and the two routers with 5G antennas are the most. To ensure good signal coverage in the home, keep the router's antenna upright. In this way, the indoor signal coverage can be guaranteed to the greatest extent.
Ⅲ. Should the router be turned off?
Let's still come to the conclusion first, we need to power off and restart regularly.
1. For routers that are always on, the internal cache will increase
There is a cache area inside the router. If it is not closed for a long time, the data will become more and more, which will affect the data transmission speed and cause the Internet speed to slow down and become stuck.
2. A router that is always on causes internal overheating
All appliances emit heat when they are running, and routers are no exception. Although the router's transmit power is very low, if it is not turned off for a long time, the heat will accumulate slowly, and the work efficiency will be affected when the temperature reaches a certain level.
3. Always-on routers reduce service life
If the router is always in a high-load working state, the accessories are prone to gradually aging. Even the 100M optical fiber may change to "turtle speed", causing various problems with network delays and slowing down the network speed.
Ⅳ. Does the home network cable need to be replaced?
After the broadband is upgraded to more than 200M, you must use a Category 5 or Category 6 network cable that supports gigabit networks. You are not supposed to pay attention to the wifi router for home price only. If you use Category 5 and below standard network cables, you can only support up to 100M. The following are the points to note during the gigabit installation process:
1. Wireless network suppliers should inform customers that to ensure transmission quality, Gigabit broadband installation will give priority to wired networking. If there is no embedded cable, indoor wiring needs to be carried out. In addition, if the embedded network cable is not a Category 5 or Category 6 network cable, you need to inform the user of the actual situation.
2. To inform clients that the gigabit broadband must be Category 6 or Category 5 or above. At the same time, the connected computers and routers must be equipped with gigabit network ports/network cards. If the above conditions are not met, it is necessary to carry out replacement and upgrade, otherwise, the actual speed measurement will not be able to reach gigabit.
Ⅴ. Gigabit router identification
Gigabit router includes 2 types, namely, wireless Gigabit (with 5G frequency band), wired Gigabit (WAN port and LAN port).

Ⅵ. What is dual-frequency?
